Since 1991, Quotepro has been connecting insurance carriers to agencies to customers. Quotepro began as a comparative rating company to meet the growing demand for specialty auto insurance after a 1990 law in Illinois made auto insurance compulsory. Since then, Quotepro has pioneered online rating, consumer-facing rating and selling insurance policies online.

Quotepro continues to connect insurance agents & carriers with customers through innovative channels whether they be in an agents office, online, through a mobile device or even at one of the revolutionary cash-accepting kiosks that can completely serve the financial needs of the unbanked.


1990 in Quotepro History


Auto insurance becomes mandatory in IL causing a 50% increase in specialty auto insurance sales.

1991 in Quotepro History


QuotePro develops a comparative rater for the specialty auto space. QuotePro Software is adopted by the Illinois specialty auto insurance market and is used to rate & fax auto insurance applications to insurance carriers. By producing each carrier’s actual application and consistently underwriting each risk accurately (to the dollar), QuotePro establishes themselves as the premier comparative rater in the specialty auto insurance space.

2000 in Quotepro History


Major online carriers including GEICO, Progressive and eSurance enter the specialty auto insurance market with the ability to Bind Online in real-time. While these new carriers had invested in systems that could produce documents in real-time, the local Illinois carriers did not.

2002 in Quotepro History


QuotePro levels the playing field by developing Bind Online technology (BOL) for Illinois specialty auto insurance carriers who can now provide customer documentation in real-time.  This allowed each BOL carrier to compete with GEICO and Progressive while keeping their legacy systems and IT teams in place.

2003 in Quotepro History


All specialty auto carriers in IL join Quotepro’s BOL platform.

2007 in Quotepro History


QuotePro launches its first retail website.  Specialty auto insurance customers can now purchase auto insurance from a variety of carriers in under 6 minutes producing a solution similar to what Orbitz, Travelocity and Priceline have done for the travel industry.

QuotePro produces first insurance kiosk prototype

QuotePro introduces a mobile platform that allows consumers to make payments, quote & purchase auto insurance online 

2014 in Quotepro History


QuotePro introduces a cash-accepting bill payment kiosk that can make change, quote & sell auto insurance and serve as an ATM.
